  Teaching aims and demands:

  Learn some new words and phrasese about feelings.

  Go on learning the structure “Linking-verb + adj.”

  Learn to talk aboout the movies

  Improve Ss’ listening and speaking skills.

  Teaching aids : Bb/ PPT/ a tape recorder

  Teaching procedure:

  Step I . Review

  Review the structure “Linking-verb + adj.” and let Ss make sentences.

  Read 课本P1(1)& P 2 (3a) and find out the sentences consist of the structure “Linking-verb + adj.”

  T: In Secton A , we know Kangkang and his friends seem happy , why?Ss : …

  T: Mr. Lee feels a little disappointed , why ? Ss:…

  Step II . Lead- in

  T: Before we learn Section B . Look at the screen (PPT 呈现一些电影及歌剧,如音乐之声、Cat、Love Me Once More 等) Are they films or opera ? (Present new words : film=movie , opera)

  T: Do you like watching films or opera ? Why ? S1:I like …, because…S2:I like …, because…

  T: What about Kangkang and his friends , what do they like , films or opera ? Lead in dialog 1 .

  Step III. Presentation

  Listen to 1 and answer three questions :

  (1) . Which opera is Maria’s favorite ?

  (2) . Does Kangkang like opera? Why ?

  (3) .What does Kangkang like best ? Why ?

  Check answers one by one , then read 1a follow the tape , then let Ss practice in groups , act it out .

  Underline the structure “Linking-verb + adj.”

  Present 3a.

  Eg: We know , on Saturday , their parents will go to the movies, the children will come to Kangkang’s house to spend the evening . Are they able to come ? Why or why not ? Let’s listen to 3a and find out the answer.

  Listen to 3a , answer the above question . Learn and master “set the table”, understand “upset” and “surprised” . Explain difficult points if necessary .

  Step IV. Consolidation

  Read 3a again , finish 3b , then retell 3a according to the informationin 3b.

  T: We practice so much speaking , let’s do some listening practice .

  Before listening, let Ss look at the sentences and use their knowledge to guess the missing words . Then listen to the tape and check the answers.
